Hi, ich bin’s, Silke!

Tja, das bin wohl ich, über die *Astrid Lindgren da geschrieben hat: hoffnungslos optimistisch, ein bisschen naiv. Erfahrungshungrig und neugierig stolpere ich auf Schaukelschuhen durchs Leben, immer dabei, aus jeder Lebenssituation das Beste herauszuholen. Aus einem Klumpen Dreck etwas Schönes oder gar Nützliches zu schaffen, entspricht also absolut meinem Lebensmotto.
Zusammen mit meinem Mann, meinen drei fast erwachsenen Söhnen, zwei Katzen und unserem alten Hundeopa lebe und arbeite ich in mittlerweile lockerer WG-Atmosphäre im wunderschönen Weinort Groß-Umstadt. Hier stecke ich gern mit den Händen im Matsch und den Gedanken in verrückten Geschichten und freue mich daran, mit jedem meiner Keramikstücke ein Stückchen Pipi-Langstrumpf-Mentalität an euch weitergeben zu können.
Mein größter Traum (außer Keith Brymer Jones mit einem meiner Stücke einmal zum Heulen zu bringen) ist es, eine für mich passende Illustrationstechnik zu finden, um meine Illustrationen auf Keramik zu verewigen, ohne dabei zu viele Abstriche an meinem Style machen zu müssen. Aber hey: Solange Luft nach oben ist, kann ich weiterklettern.

Pipi Longstocking*
Well, I guess it’s me that *Astrid Lindgren wrote about: hopelessly optimistic, a bit naive. Always curious and adventurous, I stumble through life on a pair of rocking shoes, constantly trying to make the very most of things. So creating something beautiful or even useful out of a lump of dirt is absolutely in keeping with my life motto.
Together with my husband, my three now almost grown-up sons, two cats, and our old grandpa dog, I live and work, in what has become a relaxed flat-sharing atmosphere in the beautiful wine-growing town of Groß-Umstadt. Here, I like to get my hands in the mud and my mind in crazy stories, and I’m happy to pass on a bit of the Pipi Longstocking mentality to you with each of my ceramic pieces.
My biggest dream (apart from making Keith Brymer Jones cry about one of my pieces one day) is to find a suitable illustration technique to capture my illustrations on ceramics without sacrificing too much of my style. But hey: as long as there’s room for improvement, I can keep rocketing.
